Since it’s been pouring down rain all night and most of this wet Friday morning, I thought I’d take a few minutes to share some interesting water facts that baby boomers (and everyone else for that matter) should keep in mind:
Did you know that 75% of Americans, and most of the world population, are chronically dehydrated?
In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 3%.
One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters
Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

I did not know this interesting fact. I am going to try drinking a glass of water between 7-8pm.
Thanks for the post – I am going to do a trackback

Chet, Thank you Thank you Thank you. Found you with a Colloidal Silver machine search.
I have researched water and its importance for health for years. One place many years ago I learned that we come into this earth walk 96% water and most go out at 2%. You are so right on on dehydration causing many of our ailments and complaints. I also learned the importance of having live rather than dead water. I also learned and choose to share that most bottled water is just that! Tap water that has been bottled and sold at high prices. I personally use the Berkley Water filter and the difference in the taste and benefit is remarkable. I put down “filtered” bottled water, water from a Britta water filter and the Berkley Water in different bowels for my animals. (3 dogs and 3 cats). They all tasted each but ALL, after tasting the Berkley Water ignored all the rest. They are drinking two to three times as much water now. Hard to keep up
It was expensive to buy but the filters are cleanable and last for thousands of gallons. I carry water into work by the gallon now and everyone prefers it. Our ancestors, when traveling to the west in covered wagon, put Silver coins in their water barrels to keep it fresh from water source to water source. The Silver kept the bacteria down. For years I used silver impregnated water filters but then they stopped impregnating with silver and I couldn’t find them any longer. I put colloidal silver in in any stored water to help with freshness.
Thank you again for you wonderful information. We are all connected and we need to start listening to our bodies and become responsible for our own health and well being. For too long now, in my opinion, people have run to the doctors and said: “I’m sick…..Fix me!” Time to take charge ourselves and use the doctors as a diagnostic tool and back up. I know so many that even when the doctors tell them they need to stop certain habits continue and complain that they are not getting better. What happened to our brains (they are more then hat stands) as well as common sense.
Keep up the good work. I’m recommending your site to my friends and family.
