I haven’t posted a good meditation lately, so let meĀ make up for that lapse right now.
For today’s meditation, we turn east to Tao Te Ching, The Book of the Way, where we learn…
I have just three things to teach: Simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Simple in actions and in thoughts, you return to the source of being. Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. Compassionate toward yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.
Great peace will be yours once you bring simplicity, patience, and compassion into your life by meditating on them.
How do you do that?
It’s easy.
Sit back quietly, slow down, breathe deeply, hold, relax, let go.
Repeat three times.
Then… breathe simplicity into your life.
Hold.
Relax and breathe out the things that are complicating your life and making you unhappy.
Use the same technique with patience and compassion.
See, it’s simple.

Thank you so much for this simple, yet very effective meditation! I have a series of inspirational cards by Wayne Dyer and every evening I place one next to my coffee mug to read the next morning while my coffee is brewing. This morning’s message was to MEDITATE more..hmmm… and I happened to come across this blog! There are no coincidences in life, right? Anyway..thank you and I look forward to more meditations in the future. Have a wonderful day! Namaste.

I was googling info about Journey to the Wild Divine for a biofeed back lecture I was presenting. I own the Journey package and enjoy it.
However, you mentioned loving ZORK…….I played ZORK throughout my college years and loved it. I played ZORK instead of doing my chemistry homework…ha. I wish ZORK would be reproduced in a new and improved version. I tried MYST, but did not like it as well as I was hoping.
I wanted you to know there are others out there mourning the loss of ZORK.
Thank you for a very happy blast from the past moment.

Karen, I loved all those old all-text adventure games. Zork was always my favorite, perhaps because I played it so obsessively, perhaps because the idea of a computer adventure game was so novel to me back in 1985. I rarely play computer games anymore though I do like the Silent Hill series and my eldest son has almost convinced me to try a game named Alan Wake. In any event, it’s good to hear there’s still a fellow Zork enthusiast out there.
