Stand by Me

I spend more time than I should visiting a few acoustic guitar forums since my interest in music creation blasted back into existence in January of 2008.

Well, last week a member of one of the forums posted a link to a video that literally gave me goosebumps.

You think I’m exaggerating?

No way… watch it right now and then comment and let me know if you were as impressed with it as I was:

Remarkable, don’t you think?

This video was especially interesting to me because we lived in New Orleans for more than twenty years and seeing the street performers sure brought back some good memories.

According to Brian A, the man who posted the link on the guitar forum:

… [This is] one of the best pieces of sound engineering work I think you will ever hear. It is a composite audio/video of Stand By Me where additional tracks were laid down by different singers and musicians from different places around the world. The finished product is excellent! The song itself, Stand By Me is a classic standard originally released in 1955 by The Staple Singers and released again in 1961 by The Drifters. This composite version is a real toe taper, so turn up the speaker volume…

This video takes five minutes to watch and listen to.

It’s the best five minutes you’ll spend all day, so take the time and get ready to feel good!

Thats soul music in its purest form. It is people singing, dancing, drumming from their heart and soul…not for show but for expressing themselves.
