A Music Meditation
For this week”s meditation, we turn to the late, great jazz musician, Charlie Parker, who wrote…
Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don’t live it, it won’t come out your horn.
Your life is an on-going symphony of music, but I bet you’ve rarely slowed down and been still enough to realize it.
Well, it is, and I’m going to prove it to you right now.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath. Hold for a few seconds. Exhale slowly.
Repeat until you’ve slowed down enough to feel the shift into awareness of what really is.
Now become aware of each pause between inhalation and exhalation of breath.
Listen very intently.
Hear the silence in that pause.
Feel the silence.
That is your music.
And mine.
And Charlie Parker’s.
See, Charlie was right. If you don’t live it, it don’t come out your horn.
So breathe and be at peace and live your music.
Wow.
